Yema Chocolate Cake a la Kusina ni Teds

Yema is a traditional Filipino custard candy made of condensed milk and egg yolks then wrapped in colorful cellophane.  It's one of my favorite candy that reminds me of my childhood.  At a price of a peso, I could enjoy this sweet treat during my childhood.  Because I love yema so much, I also made this as a summer sideline business during summer vacations.  I would made about a hundred pieces of yema and I would display this in our sari-sari store.

Squid Ball and Kikiam Noodle Soup

squid ball noodle soup, simple soup recipes, noodle recipes, soups recipes, chinese noodle soup, easy soup recipes

I went to the grocery last Saturday night and what I'm supposed to be buy is just one can of milk.  But guess what?  I saw a pack of fresh egg noodles and thought I want to make something out of it.  Then I grabbed a bunch of Chinese cabbage, squid ball, kikiam, onion spring and tofu.  I just grabbed them by instinct to go with my noodles soup.  A noodle soup I just imagined while picking those ingredients.  A noodle soup I don't know what to call.

Quesadilla with Caramelized Onion

It's a lazy afternoon today and the weather this past few weeks has been really wet.  It rains everyday which I really don't like.  Yes, the gloomy weather kind of influence me or should I say us to just sleep and totally be lazy all day.  I got hungry and I want to eat something savory but I don't want so much fuzz in our kitchen today.  I want a simple dish that is so simple to do with little ingredients to handle.  The result of my snack meditating moment is quesadilla.
